FAQs

What is the difference between a traditional Moroccan Hammam and your other Spa Treatments?

The Hammam is an authentic, centuries-old Moroccan cleansing and purification ritual involving steam, a black olive oil-based soap (Savon Noir), and deep exfoliation using a rough mitt (Kessa). Our other Spa Treatments (like massages or facials) are focused on relaxation, therapeutic relief, and targeted wellness. We often recommend a Hammam first, as the deep cleansing prepares your skin perfectly for the nourishing Argan Oil massage to follow.

What should I wear for my Hammam or Spa Treatment? Is nudity required?

We prioritize your comfort and modesty. For your Hammam, we provide new, disposable underwear, or you may wear your own bikini bottoms/swim shorts. During the treatment, the attendant will ensure that sensitive areas are covered with a towel. For Massage treatments, you will be professionally draped, and only the area being treated will be uncovered. You will always be provided with a plush robe and slippers for moving between rooms.

Will the Hammam scrub be too rough or painful?

The traditional Hammam scrub is meant to be invigorating and is key to shedding dead skin cells, which is why your skin feels incredibly smooth afterward. Our highly trained Tellak (Hammam attendant) is experienced in adjusting pressure. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please simply say "Bshwiya" (pronounced b-shwee-ya), which means "gently" in Moroccan Arabic, and they will immediately soften the pressure.

Can my partner and I experience the Hammam or Massage together?

Yes. Unlike public, traditional Hammams, our private spa is designed for intimacy and couples wellness. We offer beautiful private Hammam rooms and exclusive Couples Massage Suites, allowing you and your partner to enjoy the entire tranquil ritual together.

Do I need to bring my own soap, towel, or supplies?

Absolutely not. As a luxury spa in the Marrakech medina, we provide everything you need: fresh towels, robes, slippers, and all the authentic Moroccan products (like the Savon Noir, Kessa glove, and post-treatment Argan Oil). Just bring yourself and prepare to relax!
